Happy Veterans Day to all who have served our country! Brian Medeiros was looking patriotic over the weekend and serving up some whips for the crowd at Cahuilla Creek Mx.
This was the first year I was able to go to The Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas at the Sam Boyd Stadium. This is a very special race because there is a 1 Million dollar purse on the race! The only way to win the Million dollars is to win all 3 of the races that happen through out the night. Ryan Villopotto is the only person to every get the "Monster Million" and that was the first year the race was held. Going into the race this year was interesting because Villopotto wouldnt be racing. There was tons of energy in the stadium especially after Trey Canard won the first two races. In the last race Trey was in the second place just behind Davi Millsaps. It was looking good for Canard to win the Million but coming through one of the back sweepers into the stadium Canards rear tire snagged a Tuff Block and put him down on the ground. Sadly his race for the Million was over and Davi Millsaps took the over all win. Although he didn't get the "Monster Million", Davi still went home with a crisp Hundred Grand in his pocket for the overall win. Congrats Davi!
The TWMX Slam was a great time this year. From the Free Ride day to the public got a lot of people stoked and created a big crowd. The Freestyle show was awesome with Destin Cantrell throwing his insane whips. Best of all was the head to head racing going down on the supercross track. Big name pros like Jessy Nelson and Josh Hill were in the event. The underdog Kyle Partridge made an appearance as well and made the racing interesting. He put up a great fight against hill but lost and then upset Jessy Nelson with a win in the semi. In the final race it was Hill, Nelson and Partridge. Hill got the holeshot and took off while Nelson and Partridge scrapped it out. Lots of tight racing between the two but on the last lap Partridge's bike blew up and took him and Nelson both out. Nelson was able to get back and finished the race in 2nd while Partridge DNF'd and took 3rd. All in all it was a great day of racing presented by Transworld Motocross!
Although the ocean water has not been too cold in Southern California this winter, this image reminded me of some cold days in the past. I shot this at Rincon on a clear day, earlier in the week with my GoPro. I took a screen grab from a video and liked how grainy it looked, so I ran with it.
I took this image in Alabama Hills, California. My classmates and I were on a camping trip that was through our Nature Photography class. I was lucky to have a bunch of good friends in class and it made for a really crazy adventure. My friends Nick Korompilas and Devin Csiszar posed for this image after an intense climb through some very large boulders.
